The ISLAND BOYS have arrived in Denver from St. Croix! (One of the Virgin Islands.) We have recently become a shelter partner with the Pets from Paradise facility so that we can help save some kitties. They have a 95% euthanasia rate, which is why we have gone out on a limb to help. Cutie and Garfield had to fly in cabin from St Croix to the US and therefore in order to get the cats here, we have to rely on the kindness of strangers - travelers, tourists, and business people, to agree to take a cat or two in cabin when they return home. In addition, it has to be someone actually coming to Colorado, so the logistics of getting cats, any cats, from the Island is a huge challenge. But BCRO is up for it and we will be taking a few cats every year. All of these kitties have a distinctive Abby look, with long narrow faces and skinny tails. They are beautifully socialized.
Cutie is an adorable brown mackerel tabby. He is petite, with a very small head, small neck, tiny paws, and currently weighs about 8 pounds. Cutie is extemely friendly and purrs all the time. He likes to play and is extremely curious. He could not take his eye off the window the first evening he saw a raccoon in the shelter backyard. It was his first sighting since they do not have raccoons on St Croix.
Leukemia/aids negative. microcipped, neutered and vaccinated, also fecals were done.
