Other Ways You Can Help... Fostering Information

Often our cage-free shelter is full and we cannot accept more cats. In these situations, foster homes help us greatly to take in homeless cats and find them forever homes. A cat may need a foster home for as little as a week or for as long as a year.

If you are considering adopting a cat, fostering is a great way to discover if a particular cat is the right companion for you. If you have no previous experience with cats, we can match you with a low maintenance cat and help you with all you will need to care for him or her. We have cats needing all levels of care, from higher maintenance, special needs cats to low maintenance cats. If you have experience with cats, you may consider fostering a cat with special needs.

It is easy to become emotionally attached to a foster cat and letting them go can be difficult. Many foster "parents" adopt their foster cats! However, there is great satisfaction in taking in a cat who is ill, underweight, or would have been euthanized by another shelter, and seeing the cat thrive and blossom and leave to a healthy, happy, loving home.

Please contact us for more information on becoming a Foster "Parent"!!!
